Eight-week Mindfulness courses

I run 8-week mindfulness courses in Torquay, Totnes and the surrounding area.  As well as providing courses for the general public, I am able to provide bespoke courses, taster days or weekly sessions for your organisation or company. Please get in touch with me (contact details below) for more info.

I provide effective and clinically proven eight-week Mindfulness courses for stress management and general wellbeing. Join us on a journey into a new way of relating to life and coping with day-to-day challenges. The courses are affordable, with small group sizes, a supportive atmosphere and a comprehensive set of recordings and handouts.

The course is suitable for both complete beginners and experienced meditators. Mindfulness is effective in helping people to manage stress, deal with difficult thoughts and emotions, and live life more fully. Through mindfulness, we can find more helpful ways to relate to what is happening in our life and learn to respond to challenges in a more beneficial way.

What is mindfulness?

Mindfulness is about learning to live in the present, with enhanced awareness and with a kind and friendly attitude towards our experience. It is about choosing to pay attention in a non-judgmental way, such that we can cope with difficulty more easily and better choose what action to take. It also means savouring the good things in life and enlivening our enjoyment of the commonplace.

Eight-week mindfulness courses have been the subject of extensive research, which has provided considerable evidence of their effectiveness in improving mental, emotional and physical wellbeing. For more details and booking, please contact me on address below

"The course has helped me access what feeling OK is actually like - I'd forgotten! I am going to be kinder to myself from now on"

Mindfulness-Based Compassionate Living (MBCL) courses.

MBCL is part of a new wave of heart-based approaches to mindfulness, giving particular emphasis to the qualities of compassion, kindness and equanimity.

The course is designed as a follow-on programme for those who have already completed an 8-week Mindfulness course, such as MBSR, MBCT or Mindfulness for Health and Wellbeing, either at Sharpham or elsewhere.

The course content is covered in eight weekly sessions, followed by a practice session three weeks later (after Christmas, on January 6), in which participants are able to consolidate their learning and explore ways to further integrate the teachings into everyday life. This course draws on positive psychology and contemporary findings from the fields of evolutionary psychology and neuroscience. It begins with learning to be kind to yourself, expanding out to kindness towards others. To find out more about MBCL courses in general,
